The crested gecko is a tree-dwelling gecko with eyelash-like crests. It is an easy, popular beginner reptile that lives 15 years or more.
Heat is the main danger. Keep it at 22 to 26 °C and never above 27 °C. Most homes need no extra heat, but a hot summer room can be deadly. Mist the enclosure every evening so humidity rises to about 80%, then let it dry out to about 50% during the day.
Feed a complete gecko diet powder mixed with water every 2 days. Offer dusted insects now and then. Its tail does not grow back once it drops.
